UX / UI Design

 Challenge

Listening to audiobooks has become for many people the preferred option for enjoying a book. At he same time there is an increased demand for listening to interesting topics via podcasts. Audiobooks and podcasts allow people to also engage in other activities while listening. Many listeners feel the need for bookmarking sections that caught their attention and to also share these with friends.

Components

 Solution

I designed a tablet app that allows users to enjoy listening to their favorite audiobooks and podcasts. It allows them to conformably collect interesting fragments by bookmarking them, in order to be able to relisten or share them with other friends.

 User Persona

In order to get a better understanding about the profile of the users using audiobooks and podcasts apps, about their needs and frustrations, I sketched a user persona.

 Information Architecture

In order to get a clearer understanding of the screens hierarchy and the core functionalities, I established the Information Architecture.

Hi-Fi Wireframes

At this point having gained a clear idea about the screen hierarchies, the whole functionalities and user flows, I proceeded with creating the low fidelity wireframes.

 Lessons learned

It was a challenge and at the same time a pleasure to practice and develop my UI skills working for a tablet app. I had the opportunity to face several challenges when having to combining usability and esthetics in order to design a qualitative product.
